About The Position
The Los Angeles Unified School District seeks an outstanding elementary Principal to lead the students, staff, families, and community of Vermont Avenue Elementary School toward continued academic growth and success. Vermont Avenue Elementary School is nestled in a quiet community in the heart of Los Angeles. Serving 320 students in transitional kindergarten through fifth grade, Vermont is a proud and inclusive learning environment that welcomes, respects, and values every child, staff member, and family. Requirements
- Eight years of successful full-time public school district certificated service
- A minimum of three years of experience as a teacher in a K-12 program
- A minimum of two years of experience in an elementary school
- Two years of service in a position that required and utilized an administrative credential, such as assistant principal or equivalent position.
- A valid California teaching credential requiring a Bachelor's degree and a program of professional preparation, including student teaching
- A valid California Administrative Services Credential
- Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university
- Multicultural coursework
- District Master Plan requirements
- Candidates must be in the appropriate LAUSD eligible pool for the position or currently serving in the class for which they are applying.
- Candidates must successfully complete the appropriate LAUSD Aspiring Administrator Program to be placed in the eligible pool.

Responsibilities
- Lead the students, staff, families, and community of Vermont Avenue Elementary School toward continued academic growth and success.
- Ensure that every child meets and exceeds grade-level expectations.
- Analyze data, align instruction with the core curriculum, and implement research-based strategies that improve early literacy and numeracy outcomes.
- Actively support and promote district initiatives and instructional best practices.
- Provide actionable and meaningful feedback to educators using the Teaching and Learning Framework.
- Manage school operations.
- Facilitate targeted professional development.
- Effectively steward resources, including budgets and school safety.
- Cultivate a school culture rooted in academic excellence, equity, and social-emotional wellness.
- Create a nurturing, high-achieving learning environment where every student can thrive.
