About The Position

This Principal Windows System Administrator role, based in Plano, TX, involves collaborating with various teams to support critical programs with classified information system capabilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining secure, cost-efficient environments across different classified programs. Program teams will rely on guidance to define computing requirements and create end-to-end solutions for complex IT infrastructure problems. The role requires supporting a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux environment, with a focus on Windows Server management fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, AD, server replication), advanced L2/L3 ticket support, virtualization platform administration, and extensive SharePoint administration for content management and collaboration. The position also involves troubleshooting complex technical issues, working with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements, providing documentation and training, and potentially working beyond standard hours. Travel up to 10% to other US Domestic locations may be required.

Requirements

  • University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, OR an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years' experience.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Windows Server and client operating systems.
  • SharePoint administration experience.
  • Experience in one or more of the following: VMware vCenter, vSphere, VDI (Horizon), ESX and/or other virtual computing methods.
  • Scripting experience.
  • Experience with developing documentation and communicating technical processes.
  • Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within 6 months of start date.

Responsibilities

  • Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux environment.
  • Manage Windows Server fundamentals including DNS, DHCP, AD, and server replication methods.
  • Provide advanced support on L2/L3 tickets and troubleshoot technical issues reported by users.
  • Administer and optimize virtualization platforms.
  • Perform SharePoint administration, including creating and managing sites, sharing settings, groups, and storage limits.
  • Work extensively with SharePoint to support content management and collaboration needs.
  • Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of moderate to high scope and complexity, including hardware and OS integration.
  • Collaborate with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements.
  • Provide documentation and training on advanced IT processes and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and best practices.
  • Occasionally work beyond standard work hours as systems are operational 24x7.
  • Travel to other US Domestic locations as business needs dictate (up to 10%).
