About The Position

The Principal, Technology Operations leads the strategic planning and execution of large-scale technology programs, ensuring alignment with business objectives and operational excellence. This role oversees financial management, resource allocation, and risk mitigation while driving process improvements and stakeholder collaboration. By leveraging deep expertise in technology strategy and program management, the position delivers measurable value across multiple business units. The Principal fosters effective communication, guides teams through complex challenges, and champions continuous improvement to support Walmart’s commitment to innovation and operational success. The Technology Operations team ensures operational excellence by managing Jira administration, vendor relationships, and governance processes. It aligns engineering and product functions to enhance productivity and strategic execution. The team collaborates across departments to uphold organizational standards, monitor progress, and support business priorities. Focused on program management, financial oversight, and process improvement, members drive efficient delivery of technology initiatives. Strong coordination, communication, and analytical skills are essential to facilitate continuous improvement and effective stakeholder engagement within a dynamic environment.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in program and financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and ROI analysis.
  • Proven ability to define and execute integrated program plans aligned with business priorities and technology strategies.
  • Strong expertise in risk assessment, resource allocation, and scenario planning to ensure successful program delivery.
  • Demonstrated skills in stakeholder management, influencing decision-making, and building consensus across teams.
  • Proficiency in monitoring program performance using KPIs and driving continuous process improvements.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to lead cross-functional collaboration and mentor associates.
  • Solid understanding of business operations and technology landscape to align initiatives with organizational goals.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, industrial engineering, engineering management, business, information systems, project/program management, information technology, finance, management, or related area and 5 years’ experience in project management, program management, program operations, or related area.
  • 7 years’ experience in project management, program management, program operations, or related area.

  • Master’s degree in computer science, management information systems, industrial engineering, engineering management, business, information systems, project/program management, information technology, finance, management, or related area and 4 years' experience in project management, program management, program operations, or related area.
  • Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
