About The Position

The Industry Solutions Engineering (ISE) team is a global engineering organization that works directly with customers looking to leverage the latest technologies to address their toughest challenges. They collaborate closely with customers’ engineers to jointly develop code for cloud-based solutions that can accelerate their organization. This work involves collaboration with Microsoft product teams, partners, and open-source communities to empower customers. The team develops broadly applicable, high-impact solution patterns and open-source software assets. This role is for a Principal Technical Program Manager to help drive high-impact engineering projects with customers and their partners, transforming their missions using AI and other cloud-based solutions and services. TPMs identify and define relevant customer scenarios, orchestrate the engineering approach, and develop end-to-end user stories with internal and external stakeholders, fulfilling the Product Owner role. You will be part of a cross-functional team of software engineers, data scientists, technical program managers, and designers who work side-by-side with high-impact and strategic customers and their engineers to build innovative solutions. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • Currently have, or have the ability to obtain Secret (Level II) screening from a duly authorized department or agency of the Government of Canada.
  • Ten (10) years of continuous Canadian residency, and must not have lived or worked outside of Canada for more than six (6) months during that time, unless Microsoft is satisfied that the requisite clearance can nevertheless be obtained within required timelines (for security clearance).
  • Need to be able to travel into the US to work with US customers.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • 1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).
  • Enjoy travel and are comfortable with travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Software Engineering, Data Scientists, Designers, and SMEs to design complex technical solutions across feature areas.
  • Give key stakeholders data-driven recommendations based on identified risks.
  • Define success criteria and create relationships for implementing multiple feature areas for highly complex cross-functional projects.
  • Coordinate and ensure alignment across the business.
  • Deliver on roadmap for multiple feature groups across divisions, track project schedules, drive development of staging and implementation plans, and lead governance programs.
  • Drive continuous improvements by validating use cases and writing test cases from scratch.
  • Provide expertise needed for departments to collect performance metrics, lead customer support, and define and lead direct customer engagements.
