About The Position

Smartsheet is seeking a Principal Technical Product Marketing Manager focused on AI. This role is crucial for translating Smartsheet's AI roadmap into compelling narratives that the sales field can leverage. The position requires building and demonstrating these narratives, acting as the voice of the practitioner in positioning, packaging, and activating AI across the customer base. This full-time role reports to the VP of AI Market Strategy and can be based in Bellevue, WA, or remotely within the US where Smartsheet is a registered employer.

Requirements

Administered and architected Smartsheet (or comparable work management platforms) at enterprise scale, including Control Center, APIs, and integrations.
Possess a developer background with experience in writing code, working with APIs, understanding MCP and modern AI integration patterns, and building working demonstrations.
Experience running a real function (e.g., PMO, operations org, transformation program) with a track record of owning outcomes.
Proven ability to present to executives and large audiences at major industry events or customer conferences.
Ability to translate and work fluidly between product, engineering, sales, and customers, simplifying technical depth into actionable language.
Belief that AI changes organizational execution, with prior proof in personal operations.
Hands-on experience with MCP, AI agents, or LLM-connected workflows in production.
History of significantly pushing a vendor's platform.
Experience working directly with product and engineering teams as a design partner or customer advisory voice.
10+ years of relevant experience.
Legally eligible to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis.

Responsibilities

Own the practitioner narrative for Smartsheet's AI capabilities, including MCP, agentic workflows, and connected context, grounding positioning and use cases in real-world work execution.
Translate AI capabilities into external-facing stories through customer sessions, analyst conversations, community engagement, and executive briefings, serving as a visible technical voice.
Build reference implementations, MCP-connected workflows, and demonstration environments to make the AI narrative tangible.
Partner with Forward Deployed Engineering on customer engagements, shaping positioning, architecting value-proving patterns, and carrying insights between customer deployments and narrative strategy.
Enable the sales field and partners with practical AI implementation knowledge, ROI, governance, and limitations through enablement artifacts and training.
Contribute practitioner judgment to AI customer activation programs, including maturity frameworks and adoption scoring.
Drive cross-functional alignment between the AI narrative, roadmap, and field enablement, incorporating practitioner insights into product decisions and translating product direction into field messaging.
Act as a connective force across teams, influencing priorities and driving alignment on AI positioning for ambiguous, fast-moving initiatives.
Own, manage, or lead other assigned projects and initiatives.
