About The Position

As a Principal Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will serve as a trusted Talent Advisor to senior leaders within Medtronic’s Medical Surgical Robotics organization, driving both U.S. recruiting strategy and hands on delivery for highly specialized, business critical roles. In this role, you will own end to end recruiting for complex and high impact requisitions, with a strong emphasis on software engineering and robotics adjacent talent. You will influence hiring decisions through market intelligence, inclusive sourcing strategies, and data driven insights—while personally executing searches and delivering exceptional candidate and hiring leader experiences. Talent Acquisition at Medtronic is a strategic partner to the business. You will collaborate closely with leaders across the organization to shape workforce plans, strengthen diverse talent pipelines, and ensure Medtronic continues to attract the talent required to transform healthcare through robotics innovation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of experience in Talent Acquisition, or Advanced degree with 5+ years of experience in Talent Acquisition
  • U.S. work authorization sponsorship (H-1B, TN, J, etc.) is offered exclusively for Principal-level roles and above, where specialized expertise aligns with long-term business needs. Roles below the Principal level require candidates to possess unrestricted U.S. work authorization at the time of hire and for the duration of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience recruiting software engineering talent , ideally within robotics or advanced technology environments.
  • Current or prior recruiting experience at Medtronic, preferably within the Medical Surgical portfolio .
  • Proven ability to operate consistently as a strategic talent advisor , influencing hiring decisions with data and insights.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills, with success managing high‑volume, fast‑paced recruiting workloads.
  • Working knowledge of employment regulations, including EEO, AAP, and OFCCP compliance.
  • Proficiency with recruiting tools such as Workday Recruit and LinkedIn .
  • HR or Talent Acquisition certifications.
  • Deep expertise in inclusive sourcing strategies across a wide range of recruiting channels.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a strategic talent advisor to hiring leaders, partnering to define role requirements, competencies, and hiring strategies aligned to business priorities.
  • Lead end‑to‑end recruitment for complex, high‑impact roles, from intake through offer negotiation and acceptance.
  • Provide market insights and recommendations on talent availability, competitive positioning, compensation considerations, and hiring risks.
  • Source and attract top talent through proactive, multi‑channel strategies , including direct sourcing, referrals, social platforms, networking, events, and contractor conversions.
  • Build and maintain diverse, high‑quality talent pipelines , with a strong focus on inclusive sourcing practices.
  • Conduct in‑depth candidate screens and interviews to assess technical capability, experience, and motivational fit.
  • Deliver an exceptional candidate experience , serving as a brand ambassador for Medtronic and our Robotics mission.
  • Utilize applicant tracking systems and recruiting analytics to monitor performance, identify trends, and guide continuous improvement.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance recruiting processes and implement creative, scalable solutions that improve speed, quality, and experience.
