C3BM Principal Systems Engineer – Advanced Technologies
About The Position
APEX TK is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to support Command, Control, Communications, and Battle Management (C3BM) systems engineering. The role contributes to Command, Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) technical engineering and integration, future concepts, new functionality, and multinational exchange designs. The engineer supports planning and execution of space-system data exploitation capabilities for missile tracking, discrimination, and cueing. Work includes Cruise Missile Indications and Warning development; Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture (PWSA) integration; Enterprise Sensors Lab (ESL) prototype evaluation; and fielding Enterprise Sensors Processing Node (ESPN) operational capabilities. The role coordinates and participates in technical reviews at SECRET and TS levels, evaluates infrared data exploitation performance during real-world events, and helps assess and integrate new infrared sensors into the MDA/DCC portfolio. The position also prepares and presents briefings to operators, developers, and executive leaders. It assists the program manager with acquisition actions, obtaining required Government Furnished Equipment and Information, and assessing contractor performance.
Requirements
- Secret clearance or higher.
- 12+ years working on a missile defense-related or other complex, large DoD program or project.
- Master’s degree in STEM.
- Proficiency in systems engineering and execution processes.
- Some experience with or knowledge of missile defense weapon systems, radars, C2BMC, or BMDS OPIR Architecture (BOA).
- Ability to lead implementation of systems engineering processes to facilitate integration and transition of emerging capabilities into operations.

Responsibilities
- Conduct systems engineering support for planning and executing space-system data exploitation capabilities for missile tracking, discrimination, and cueing.

- Prepare and present explanatory briefings for operators, developers, and executive leaders.
- Assist the program manager with acquisition actions to get contractors on contract.
- Coordinate acquisition of required Government Furnished Equipment and Information.
- Assess overall contractor performance.
- Lead implementation of systems engineering processes to facilitate integration and transition of emerging capabilities into operations.
