About The Position

Boston University Information Services & Technology (IS&T) is seeking a Principal Systems Architect for Research Technologies and IS&T Research Computing. The role leads the design, development, and operations of Boston University's cloud-based research computing infrastructure and serves as the senior technical authority for IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS platforms supporting data-intensive research across multiple disciplines. The position combines hands-on operational expertise with strategic vision to architect next-generation cloud systems that inform future University and community-wide research computing decisions.

The Principal Systems Architect also oversees and advances major initiatives such as the New England Research Cloud (NERC) and its follow-on projects, working with partner universities and industry partners to develop shared research computing capabilities and standards. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• At least 7 years of relevant experience.
