About The Position
Boston University Information Services & Technology (IS&T) is seeking a Principal Systems Architect to lead the design, development, and operations of the University's cloud-based research computing infrastructure. The role serves as the senior technical authority for IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS platforms supporting data-intensive research across multiple disciplines. The position combines hands-on operational expertise with strategic vision to architect next-generation cloud systems and inform future University and community-wide research computing decisions. It also oversees and advances major initiatives, including the New England Research Cloud (NERC) and follow-on projects, working with partner universities and industry partners to develop shared research computing capabilities and standards.
