This role involves providing IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and RedHat Enterprise Linux environment. It requires experience with troubleshooting techniques for technical problems of moderate to high scope and complexity, including hardware and operating system integration. The administrator will execute actions as directed by senior staff and project management, engage in cross-team collaboration, and align with leadership expectations. Key responsibilities include designing, developing, and deploying containers, participating in all phases of Engineering software installation and support with an emphasis on testing, documentation, and acceptance. The position also entails managing ESXi, VCenter, and Microsoft Windows domains, working with Windows Server internals or Linux fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, AD, server replication), and handling hardware RAID, encryption, and server management tools. Performing data backup and restore, installing and configuring software applications, and collaborating with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements are also part of the role. Systems are operational 24x7, occasionally requiring work effort beyond standard hours, and up to 10% travel to other US Domestic locations.

Requirements

Typically requires a University degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Experience with Windows and/or Linux.
Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within 6 months of start date.

Nice To Haves

Experience Deploying Windows workstations and migrating end-user data.
Experience with cloning techniques.
Use and guide use of automation tools e.g. Ansible.
Experience with operating system concepts and implementations.
Microsoft Windows Active Directory Services administration and support (e.g. user and computer objects administration, Group Policy).
Experience with network services related to Microsoft Windows environment (e.g. DC, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
Experience with supporting desktop / workstation hardware.
Experience with an IT incident/service request system.

Responsibilities
