The Principal Supply Planner is responsible for developing and maintaining short- and long-term supply and production plans aligned with demand and the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process. This role involves running Master Production Scheduling (MPS) and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) processes, ensuring capacity feasibility, converting planned orders into production and purchase orders, and balancing production schedules across work centers. The Principal Supply Planner will also allocate inventory to support customer demand, monitor and adjust priorities based on supply constraints and business needs, and own the inventory strategy, including Make-to-Stock/Make-to-Order (MTS/MTO), safety stock, and decoupling points. They will establish and maintain inventory targets and planning parameters, monitor Finished Goods (FG), Work-In-Progress (WIP), and raw materials for risks, excess, or shortages, and support new product launches, transitions, and end-of-life planning. Additionally, this role performs capacity analysis, identifies constraints, recommends solutions, and runs scenario and what-if analyses to support decision-making. The Principal Supply Planner supports the Supply Review within the S&OP process, communicates risks and recovery plans, and identifies and addresses risks related to cost, service, quality, and capacity. They will also escalate critical issues with recommended actions, maintain planning master data and system parameters, ensure the accuracy and integrity of planning systems, and support continuous improvement in planning tools and processes. This role partners with Manufacturing, Procurement, Warehousing, Engineering, Finance, and Customer Service, translates supply plans into inventory and capacity impacts, supports KPI tracking and financial planning cycles, and participates in process improvement and standard work development.
