Principal, Strategic Finance & Analytics, Acquisition

Airbnb
•$168,000 - $206,000•Remote

About The Position

As a Principal in Strategic Finance & Analytics supporting Acquisition, you will partner with senior leaders across Homes and Marketing to grow high-quality host supply. You will become the subject matter expert on how host leads are sourced, priced, and converted, and develop a point of view on which channels and tactics warrant further investment. The role requires a strong commercial mindset: translating funnel performance, vendor economics, and marketing efficiency into business implications and recommendations that senior leaders can act on. You will own the recommendation, not just the analysis. The Strategic Finance & Analytics team partners directly with leaders on investment, growth, and business decisions, bringing a CFO mindset to budget management, actionable insights, performance reporting, and day-to-day execution. This is a US remote-eligible position. It may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed with your manager. You must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in an analytical role such as strategic finance, strategy or management consulting, investment banking, financial planning and analysis, business operations, or private equity.
  • Experience owning recommendations rather than analysis alone.
  • Strong financial modeling skills.
  • Ability to independently extract and interrogate large datasets, with working SQL proficiency.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and a track record of translating ambiguous data into decisions senior leaders act on.
  • Excellent executive communication skills, including leading with recommendations, calibrating to the audience, and defending assumptions under live scrutiny.
  • High ownership, sound judgment in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment, and rigorous attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in lead generation, supply or customer acquisition, marketing mix and channel efficiency analysis, or evaluating the effectiveness of in-house and outsourced sales channels.

Responsibilities

  • Own forecasting, goal setting, and executive reporting for lead generation, building scalable frameworks that connect lead volume and quality to activation and revenue.
  • Analyze full-funnel, stage-by-stage conversion and vendor productivity to identify where leads are lost, why, and the value of addressing those losses.
  • Optimize sales operations across in-house and vendor channels, including capacity planning, routing and prioritization logic, incentive structures, and cost-per-activation economics.
  • Assess brand and search marketing efficiency relative to priority supply markets and recommend reallocations when returns diverge from where supply is most needed.
  • Synthesize complex analysis into clear recommendations and influence cross-functional stakeholders toward alignment on high-impact investment decisions.
  • Partner with senior leaders across Homes and Marketing to grow high-quality host supply and guide investment in acquisition channels and tactics.

Benefits

  • The role may be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
