Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Principal/Sr. Principal Industrial Engineer Level 3/4 to support our Industrial Engineering Operations Management (IEOM) organization. This candidate will join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in Iuka, MS.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's in STEM with 4 or more years of engineering experience in Manufacturing, Systems, Management, Mechanical, Process, or Data Analysis; OR a Master’s degree in STEM with 3 or more years of engineering in mentioned fields; OR PhD in STEM with 0 years of experience (for Level 3)
  • Bachelor's in STEM with 8 or more years of engineering experience in Manufacturing, Systems, Management, Mechanical, Process, or Data Analysis; OR a Master’s degree in STEM with 6 or more years of engineering in mentioned fields; OR PhD in STEM with 4 years of experience (for Level 4)
  • Experience with Power BI and data systems to develop performance visuals include: experience with Power BI, data literacy (ETL, SQL, data modeling), ability to create and share dashboards, and strong communication skills for presenting actionable insights.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office excel, including macros, data mining, and pivot tables or data visualization software applications.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DOD Security Clearance and Special Program Access in a reasonable amount of time as required by the business.
  • Experience in leading prior teams
  • Experience in Project Management

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes lead times, queue times, work-in-process, cycle times, and throughput to meet customer demand most effectively and efficiently
  • Builds scalable and sustainable models to optimize product flow, while incorporating cost, schedule, and resource constraints
  • Develops optimized scheduling tools and aligns SAP/MRP systems with an executable plan given various capacity constraints
  • Incorporates complex interdependencies within a system to account for the interaction of multiple cost centers, programs, equipment, and tools
  • Communicates requirements planning and systems framework with IT, ERP, business analytics, and data science teams
  • Works with developers to design an interactive user interface that will be effective at scheduling jobs across cost centers
  • Guides digital transformation efforts to align with sector and enterprise strategies
  • Leads and drives positive change using iterative and agile methodologies
  • Creates new metrics and data visualizations to monitor shop floor performance
