About The Position

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located partially on site at one of the following Aeronautics Systems sites: Palmdale CA, El Segundo CA, Clearfield UT, or Melbourne, FL. In this role, you will be a part of the Facilities Strategic Planning & Integration team whose charter is to maximize operational excellence and efficiency of the distributed Facilities organization through centralized, strategic homeroom support of systems, tools, processes, portfolio planning, and coordination of Sector/Corporate initiatives impacting the broader NGAS Facilities organization. A core focus of this position is driving system and process adoption by developing robust training programs, leading stakeholder change management initiatives, and managing process reviews and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure smooth transitions during process and tool rollouts. This Principal Facilities Process Engineer Level 3 or Senior Principal Facilities Process Engineer Level 4 will be responsible for standardizing, maintaining, and improving facilities processes, tools, and training across multiple AS locations. This role manages core facilities process documentation, supports and optimizes facilities software tools, and leads training and integration efforts to ensure consistent, efficient operations nationwide. The position partners closely with site facilities teams, functions (e.g. ESHM, security, operations, IT), and business stakeholders to drive operational excellence and a consistent employee experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Architecture or Construction Management, Operations Research, Engineering, (Industrial, Systems, Mechanical), Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), or a relevant technical field with 5 Years of relevant experience; OR a Master's Degree in the stated fields with 3 years of relevant experience; OR a PhD in the stated fields with 1 year of relevant experience. (For Level 3)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Architecture or Construction Management, Operations Research, Engineering, (Industrial, Systems, Mechanical), Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), or a relevant technical field with 8 Years of relevant experience; OR a Master's Degree in the stated fields with 6 years of relevant experience; OR a PhD in the stated fields with 4 year of relevant experience. (For Level 4)
  • Strong organizational skills in managing time, projects, and resources.
  • Strong skills in process mapping, workflow design, and requirements gathering.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities across geographically dispersed locations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office/365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Teams, SharePoint or equivalent collaboration platforms).
  • Ability to work in cross functional teams and interact with both managers and customers.
  • Ability to organize stakeholders while providing project visibility and closure plans.

  • Exceptional instructional capability, strong public speaking skills, empathy for users navigating technical changes, and a rigorous approach to software quality assurance testing.
  • Experience with facility design and drafting, including space layouts and utilization plans
  • Experience with design and construction of classified facilities
  • Experience working within an ITAR-regulated environment, defense manufacturing plant, or aerospace facility.
  • Certified Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt.
  • Familiarity with data integrations, APIs, SQL, or dashboarding tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) used to visualize CMMS performance.
  • Experience working in a large, complex, or highly regulated organization.
  • Aerospace and/or Defense Industry Experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Review and optimize standardized facilities processes and procedures for multiple sites.
  • Coordinate periodic reviews and updates to documentation to align with changing requirements and business needs.
  • Monitor key metrics and feedback from sites to identify gaps & opportunities.
  • Lead structured Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations into critical facility system failures to isolate technical or process flaws.
  • Prioritize needs for improvement based on calculated business value.
  • Collaborate with key resources and stakeholders on solution development.
  • Coordinate requirements gathering, configuration changes, testing, and rollout of tool enhancements and new features.
  • Design and execute structured change management plans to transition diverse stakeholder groups (from executive leadership to frontline technicians) through software updates and process modifications.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) discovered during RCAs, adjusting operational workflows or system integrations to prevent repeat failures.
  • Author clear, accessible training documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), quick-reference guides, and video tutorials tailored to different user roles and technical skill levels.
  • Design and deliver training for facilities staff and stakeholders on processes, tools, and best practices.
  • Support change management for process and tool changes, including communication plans and adoption tracking.
  • Develop and maintain user guides, quick-reference material, and standard configurations to support consistent tool usage.
  • Act as a primary contact for user questions, support, and feedback related to facilities processes and tools.
  • Work with site leaders to understand local requirements and align them with standard practices.
  • Develop and standardize workflows for long-range facility planning, space utilization, and asset lifecycle management.
