About The Position

Raytheon is seeking a Principal Specialist, Materials Planning role within the Advanced Product Center area in McKinney, TX. The successful candidate will operate in multiple shop floor control and Material Requirement Planning (MRP) related systems to ensure alignment between material position and production schedule. This role is responsible for evaluating and coordinating program requirements to ensure a controlled flow of materials and services to meet customer requirements. They will provide status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided as needed. The role involves working daily to confirm material supply availability, preparing purchase requests for components based on a master production schedule, shop load, and inventory requirements, and working with program support staff to resolve material shortages and other issues impacting product build. Additionally, the specialist will report on and troubleshoot MRP system generated exceptions, take corrective action on unfavorable trends, conduct quarterly physical inventory cycle counts and reconcile the system, and expedite the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers, etc. Performing movement of material to and from the factory, pack/ship (or other area) as needed is also part of the responsibilities. The role requires the ability to lift per RTX EHS Lifting Guidelines and is responsible for maintaining stacked LOB and extracting impact data for weekly analysis in support of IPT/PPR meetings with programs. The specialist will also attend, support, and/or lead weekly program and factory meetings. This role will be onsite in our McKinney, TX facility.

Requirements

  • A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
  • Experience to include planning, scheduling, production control, supply chain, manufacturing, operations, finance, project management or a related field.
  • Experience with MRP and/or Special program access.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience utilizing lean manufacturing concepts with a proven track record of lean or six sigma project implementations.
  • Experience with ERP or purchasing systems.
  • Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook).
