The following position is to join our RTX Enterprise Services team: RTX has an opening for a Principal Specialist, Facilities Maintenance Leader (Principal Specialist, Facilities) position. Location: El Paso, TX US-TX-EL PASO-M1 ~ 7201 Montana Ave ~ BLDG. This is an Individual Contributor role responsible for managing small projects and operational processes while supporting facility operations at the Montana and Biggs Army Airfield sites in El Paso, TX. This position provides advanced knowledge across both locations, covering 662,929 SF at the Montana site and 80,000 SF at the Biggs site, supporting a combined employee population of approximately 145. The role routinely addresses difficult and sometimes complex issues, working to achieve daily objectives with significant impact on operational outcomes. The position requires awareness of broader operational factors that may span multiple work areas. It involves coaching and reviewing the work of professionals and effectively influencing others regarding operational policies, practices, and procedures. The goal is to ensure that the workplace is safe, flexible, efficient, and well-maintained. The position requires extensive communication and collaboration within and outside the department, including engagement with local business leadership, Digital Technology, Security, Environmental Health and Safety, internal customers, suppliers, and government compliance officials. Support audits and ensures adherence to all applicable compliance requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5+ years experience in the facilities arena and a bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or operations or related discipline or equivalent combination of related work experience and schooling in lieu of degree.
  • A solid knowledge of building management systems with experience in building services engineering or construction management experience.
  • Technical trade experience or hands on experience in electrical systems HVAC, plumbing, and fire safety.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks to provide a safe productive work environment to the building occupants.
  • Ability to read blueprints, one line diagrams and schematics.
  • The ability to work extended hours and overtime to support building and customer needs; nights weekends and on call as needed.
  • Required Emergency 24/7 response and support.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Solid computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft office suite, SAP Prism, SAP Apex, Archibus, and CAD.
  • Ability to work extended hours.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise outside contractors, who construct, maintain, and repair utilities systems, buildings, and equipment via one or more of the following trades: electrical, plumbing, carpentry, air conditioning, heating, painting and/or general maintenance, including custodial & grounds.
  • Support all day-to-day activities in support of building operations and customer needs.
  • Provide on and off-site direction to mechanical system technicians during regular and off-hours as needed.
  • Always present a professional demeanor and appearance.
  • Manage all work assignments in a safe and professional manner.
  • Support the management of facilities vendors and contractors.
  • Assure effective preventive maintenance/corrective maintenance of existing systems.
  • Maintain time and attendance system.
  • Maintain department budgets and asset protection record.
  • Support management of State of Texas required inspections and certifications for site.
