The Principal Specialist – Contracts & Pricing is responsible for overseeing the full life cycle of proposals and contracts, ensuring compliance with government regulations, prime contract requirements, and company policies. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in business, engineering, or a technical field.
  • 6-9 years’ experience in the US defense/aerospace industry.
  • Strong track record in contracting, procurement, program, or project management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and proposal management systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple complex deliverables simultaneously.
  • Candidates are required to provide proof of either US citizenship, Permanent US residency or classification as a protected individual as defined in 8 USC 1324b (a) (3).

Responsibilities

  • Manages the preparation, review, and submission of proposals.
  • Develops proposal costing and manages the interface with customers and government counterparts.
  • Leads the proposal development process from initial assignment through contract award.
  • Coordinates with cross-functional teams (engineering, finance, legal, program management) to gather necessary information, meet deadlines, develop competitive bids, and follow up with the sales team to close opportunities.
  • Manage subcontractor relationships under assigned contracts.
  • Ensure all procurement actions conform to directives, policies, and regulations (e.g., FAR/DFAR).
  • Analyze existing subcontracts for risks, conflicts, and ambiguities.
  • Manage the performance of subcontractor partners to support technical, schedule, quality, and financial objectives.
  • Prepare and issue responses to Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs).
  • Manage change orders.
  • Facilitate critical dialogue between subcontractors and internal teams.
  • Contribute to risk management by identifying opportunities and creating mitigation plans.
  • Participate in subcontract management reviews, technical meetings, and audits.
  • Develop Pricing for standard, modified standard, and custom power conversion products.
  • Quote and follow up on standard product inquiries from customers and sales team.
