About The Position

As a Principal at The Menta Education Group, you will support school-wide initiatives that focus on teacher development, implementation of PBIS, and Common Core Standards. Menta Academy Eunice is committed to the student with exceptional needs, their families, and our community. Menta Academy Eunice is partnering with local districts to provide an educational model using the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework. This provides flexible methods, materials, and assessments to assist teachers in differentiating instruction to meet the needs of all of the students we serve. Our special education curriculum is rigorous, relevant, and reflective. The needs of each student are mapped with the Common Core Learning Standards, providing the teachers with valuable information about the students curriculum strengths and areas that require support for continuous growth and improvement.Our highly qualified staff is actively engaged in each students learning using Expanded Menta Method, Structured Teaching Model, Blended-Learning, and so much more. This approach comes from three ideals serving as the foundation of the Menta philosophy… college, career, and citizenship ready.

Requirements

  • New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED) Special Education PK-12 Teaching License and a NMPED issued Educational Administration License PK-12
  • A strong knowledge of the PBIS model
  • Knowledge of Common Core Standards
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to speak and write clearly and persuasively
  • Ability to successfully handle multiple projects concurrently

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction in supporting students and staff
  • Support school-wide initiatives in special education
  • Drive change by working alongside staff and students to improve academic and behavioral achievement and support the overall learning environment
  • Lead the school by building high performing teams and responsibly manage work and people while enlisting others in the school vision
  • Promote the success of students by creating an instructional program that continually strives to improve teaching and learning
  • Create and maintain a school environment that focuses on students and emphasizes high academic expectations, a personal approach, caring, discipline, and order
  • Encourage professional development and effectively supervise teachers and staff in order to improve student learning and academic achievement
  • Confer with students, parents, and staff to resolve issues and problems
