Principal Solution Architect

AT&TDallas, TX
$174,100 - $261,100Onsite

About The Position

We are hiring Principal Solution Architects to accelerate AI-driven automation across AT&T's Business Technology & Product Development (BTPD) platform. These roles sit at the intersection of enterprise solution architecture and applied AI — designing agentic systems that gather information, build context, and automate complex solutioning workflows. You will own end-to-end technical solutions for major initiatives using modern AI patterns (LangGraph, LangChain, prompt engineering) alongside traditional architecture disciplines.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in solution architecture, systems engineering, or software engineering with increasing scope and complexity.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and delivering AI/ML solutions — particularly agentic or generative AI systems — in a production enterprise environment.
  • Strong Python proficiency; experience with LangGraph, LangChain, or equivalent AI orchestration frameworks.
  • Proven ability to architect cloud-native solutions on Azure and/or AWS (Kubernetes, serverless, managed AI/ ML services).
  • Experience with API design and governance (REST, GraphQL, event-driven architectures).
  • Track record of cross-team technical leadership — aligning multiple squads around a shared architectural vision without formal authority.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication — you produce clear architecture documents, ADRs, and interface specifications.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with telecom/B2B domain concepts is a plus but not required.
  • You can design a multi-agent system from scratch — defining agent roles, tool interfaces, memory/context management, and orchestration flows.
  • You decompose complex enterprise problems into modular, testable architecture components and communicate trade-offs clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • You write production-quality Python and can prototype agentic workflows rapidly using LangGraph or equivalent frameworks.
  • You have hands-on experience deploying AI/ML workloads on Azure or AWS (container orchestration, serverless, managed AI services).
  • You thrive at the boundary between systems — connecting billing platforms, order management, product catalogs, and fulfillment systems through well-defined APIs and event-driven patterns.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement agentic AI systems that automate solutioning workflows — gathering data from heterogeneous sources, constructing context, and producing actionable technical outputs.
  • Architect integration solutions across enterprise platforms ensuring coherent end-to-end data flow and nonfunctional readiness (performance, reliability, security).
  • Build and maintain a "context hub" — a knowledge automation layer that synthesizes business rules, system state, and domain expertise into structured, queryable context for AI agents and human decision-makers.
  • Translate business requirements into robust technical designs: solution intents, integration plans, API contracts, interface specifications, and architecture decision records (ADRs).
  • Define and validate system components, interactions, and trade-offs — producing repeatable engineering artifacts that reduce rework and accelerate delivery.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architects, development squads, product owners, and program leadership to align architectural direction across teams and platforms.
  • Drive adoption of AI-augmented engineering practices — prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), tool-use patterns, and multi-agent orchestration.
  • Evaluate and recommend cloud-native patterns on Azure and AWS for deploying AI workloads at enterprise scale.
