About The Position

The Principal, Software Engineering: Java is responsible for developing and delivering business features for an application, integrating data from a variety of upstream sources, presenting data through the user interface, and advancing the platform. The application must provide data-rich presentation and a strong user experience while maintaining performance and rock-solid reliability during the busiest trading days. The role calls for creative problem-solving, effective communication, proactive technical decision-making, and collaboration with business, technical, and non-technical professionals in an agile environment. The Principal will help strengthen the in-house development team as vendor engagement concludes, provide technical support across DevOps, backend, and UI development, and collaborate with other leads on complex solutions spanning multiple systems. The role is hands-on and includes coding, testing, troubleshooting, debugging, documenting systems, addressing project health and delivery risks, preparing applications for production—including nonfunctional requirements—and recommending technologies and tools that improve system and development-process efficiency and quality. The position has no supervisory responsibilities.
