About The Position

Raytheon, part of RTX, is hiring a Principal Software Engineer for its Air & Space Defense Systems strategic business unit, within Space Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance. The role is located onsite in Aurora, Colorado, and supports the development of advanced ground system software for space intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions. The team delivers information superiority from space, multi-mission automation and orchestration, multiple intelligence, resilient operations, secure processing, and data management. The engineer will design, develop, test, and maintain advanced ground system software. The role offers exposure to modern DevSecOps and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery techniques, as well as software lifecycle practices for defense projects. An active, transferable U.S. government TS/SCI security clearance is required before the start date, and U.S. citizenship is required for eligibility to hold that clearance.

Requirements

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 8 years of relevant software engineering experience.
Experience programming with Java.
Experience programming with Python and JavaScript.
Experience with satellite mission management or similar planning and scheduling software.
Experience using test automation tools and methods.
Active and transferable U.S. government-issued TS/SCI security clearance is required prior to the start date.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

Experience with SpringBoot/Spring Framework.
Experience with SAFe Agile development.
Experience with Cucumber and Kubernetes.
Experience with DevSecOps and CI/CD processes.
Experience with tools such as Confluence, Eclipse, Jira, Jenkins, Junit, and Kafka.
