Principal Software Engineer
About The Position
As a Principal Software Engineer, you will shape and improve the experience of key Vertafore customers. You will work cross-functionally with Customer Support, Account Management, Product Management, and Product Development to guide customers and contribute to your team's future growth. You will work with a fast-paced, skilled team of business analysts, conversion engineers, developers, and quality assurance engineers on multiple high-profile projects, with development responsibility for assigned projects. Success depends on timely, clear, concise, and effective verbal and written communication, and on developing solutions that meet customer expectations with no or minimal defects or rework. Although developing and supporting code is the primary duty, you will also work directly with customers as part of a cross-functional team. The role calls for a proactive self-starter who can multitask in a fast-paced environment and is service-focused in nurturing the customer experience. You will also serve as a mentor, consultant, and customer champion within Vertafore.
