Principal Software Engineer
About The Position
Bright Vision Technologies is hiring a Principal Software Engineer for a full-time, direct W2 position that is 100% remote within the United States. The role focuses on designing distributed, high-scale production systems and providing enterprise-level technical and architectural leadership. The position requires extensive software engineering experience and leadership across teams and business units, including mentoring senior engineers and shaping engineering culture. The salary range is $100,000–$150,000 annually. U.S. citizens, Green Card holders, EAD holders, and candidates seeking an H-1B transfer are encouraged to apply. The company is unable to sponsor new H-1B visa petitions for this position.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
- 12 or more years of professional software engineering experience.
- Proven expertise designing distributed, high-scale systems in production.
- Advanced proficiency in Java, Go, C++, or similar backend languages.
- Deep understanding of data modeling, system optimization, and performance tuning.
- Experience leading cross-team technical initiatives across multiple business units.
- Strong expertise in reliability engineering and distributed architectures.
- Demonstrated leadership in architectural decision-making at enterprise scale.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Track record of mentoring senior engineers and shaping engineering culture.

- Public technical contributions, such as papers, talks, or open-source leadership.
- Experience driving multi-year transformation programs.
- Familiarity with FinOps and large-scale cost optimization.
- Exposure to regulated industries such as financial services, healthcare, or government.
