About The Position

The Principal Software Engineer will shape the customer messaging platform FIS teams use to reach customers through email, push notifications, and SMS. The role defines how messages are composed, branded, delivered, measured, and governed across financial institutions, enabling teams across FIS to send consistent, compliant, and timely communications. The Principal Engineer sets technical direction for customer messaging, makes build, buy, or adopt decisions, and connects business stakeholders with engineering. Success means delivering reliable messages that reflect each brand and meet regulatory requirements by default. The role also builds shared messaging services and capabilities, supports AI-assisted messaging workflows, shapes the content platform for messaging and digital channels, and coaches engineers and technical leads while strengthening engineering practices.

  • Proven technical leadership across architecture, standards, and cross-team delivery.
