Principal Platform Software Engineer

Oracle•FL, FL
•$104,500 - $234,600

About The Position

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is building software systems to enable data center operations to scale with the speed, reliability, and efficiency required by modern cloud infrastructure. The Principal Software Development Engineer (IC4) will design, build, and operate platforms supporting Cloud Hardware Support (CHS), focusing on cloud-native systems, operational tooling, workflow automation, analytics, and intelligent user experiences. The engineer will independently build systems and services, guide technical direction, lead design across complex features and subsystems, and improve engineering and operational practices. The work spans task execution, workflow orchestration, inventory and asset interactions, guided procedures, operational analytics, and automation-first experiences for data center support teams. The broader CHS roadmap aims to reduce fragmented manual processes, improve repair throughput and quality, centralize analytics, and establish a task-centric repair operator platform. Success requires strong technical judgment, ownership of production systems, empathy for field and operations users, and the ability to design secure, resilient, observable, and scalable software for global environments. The stated U.S. hiring range is $104,500–$234,600 per annum; the role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
