About The Position

The C2BMC Next Program, based in Colorado Springs, CO, is seeking a Software Engineer who will be responsible for developing and integrating future-capability prototypes for the Missile Defense System, including Sensor/Weapon Integration. Algorithm Development, User Interface Development and other critical leading-edge missile defense technologies. The individual will be responsible for deploying and maintaining a large virtualization solution, spread across multiple remote sites.

Requirements

  • Thorough understanding and experience with Nutanix Prism/AHV on premise cloud platform
  • Experience with on premise multi-tenant environment using Role based administrative controls (RBAC) for least privilege.
  • IAT2 (Security+ or equivalent) required
  • Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.

  • Proficiency in Project Management Tools: Experience using Microsoft Project, Jira, or similar platforms for scheduling, task management, and tracking project progress.
  • Agile Methodology Expertise: Strong understanding and application of Agile methodologies, including SCRUM, for iterative development and team collaboration.
  • Risk Management: Skilled in identifying potential risks, developing mitigation strategies, and implementing proactive solutions to ensure project success.
  • Requirements Management: Experience in decomposing, prioritizing, and managing technical and functional requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Proven ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring alignment across engineering, operations, and program leadership to achieve objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain hypervisor software patch/version level to stay current with vendor recommended versions to support current production requirements.
  • Troubleshoot all virtualization/cloud solutions, working with hardware engineers to ensure all physical servers are in a nominal state and firmware are up to date.
  • Monitoring of health of all virtualization/cloud services, to ensure maximum uptime in enterprise.
  • Monitor and alerting virtualization capacity management for compute/storage load calculations, tracking virtual resource availability for expansion of enterprise.
  • Collaboration with other teams, such as 10AM engineering to configure new services for user access to virtual assets, utilizing cloud specific technologies. This could include examples like creating new security group for a particular user group, creating a Nutanix Prism Central project, associating particular VM assets to this project. and ensure only aspects of project are accessible by user base.
  • Deployment and maintenance of virtual desktop infrastructure (VOi) technologies that provide access to enterprise services to user base, either local or remote. Examples of these solutions include products like VMWare Horizon View and/or Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops.
  • Act as primary administrator for Kubernetes containerized architecture for deployment. maintenance, and decommissioning processing.
