About The Position

As Principal Software Developer, you will set technical direction for PowerPlan’s mission-critical tax, accounting, and workflow platform. The role combines hands-on development across .NET, Angular, and Azure with architecture discussions involving subject matter experts and leadership. You will become a trusted technical authority across multiple platform domains and help shape PowerPlan’s transformation toward a modern SaaS foundation, including the growing role of AI in product development and delivery. You will also mentor developers and contribute to a high-trust, high-accountability engineering culture supporting enterprise software for energy industry organizations. Success involves becoming a credible technical voice, delivering scalable, production-ready work, and helping colleagues grow. Early work includes learning the platform architecture, workflows, and data flows, identifying architectural or scalability risks, and leading a design or architecture review. Ongoing work includes building and maintaining features, improving scalability, maintainability, and performance, surfacing risks early, and driving technical discussions to clear decisions. After becoming grounded in the architecture and team, you will build a regular mentoring practice through pairing and substantive code review. This is a hybrid role combining onsite work at the corporate office with work from home. Onsite attendance may be required for scheduled office days, team or client meetings, and special events.
