The Principal Site Reliability Engineer designs and architects reliable, functional infrastructure and services; forecasts infrastructure demand; and collaborates with software development teams to ensure systems are scalable and meet deployment requirements. It develops and tests automation to improve operational efficiency, supports provisioning and decommissioning where needed, and communicates service capacity, security, performance, and change impacts to customers and teams. The role evaluates emerging technologies, improves performance and deployment efficiency, analyzes production data, and shares site reliability insights. The role also coordinates moderately complex projects, collaborates with stakeholders, addresses complex problems, pursues continuous learning, mentors junior team members, contributes to process improvements, and participates in candidate interviews and hiring recommendations.
