The Principal Site Reliability Engineer serves as a senior technical authority, setting reliability standards, guiding complex technical decisions, and leading improvements that reduce operational risk and manual effort. The role combines architecture with hands-on production work, including accessing deployed hosts, troubleshooting failed services, reviewing logs, correcting configurations, and validating production changes. The position designs and architects reliable, secure, scalable, and maintainable infrastructure and services; forecasts demand; responds to capacity needs; and works with development teams to build resilient systems. It leads engineering standards, operational practices, incident response, maintenance, automation, health and performance reporting, and technical documentation. The role also owns and improves an enterprise infrastructure automation platform, supports security and compliance work, evaluates emerging technologies, and provides technical leadership and mentorship across teams. The work spans Windows Server and Linux environments, cloud and hybrid infrastructure—including Oracle Cloud Infrastructure or another major cloud platform—and production application hosting. The engineer leads structured builds and deployments, patching initiatives, complex troubleshooting, major incident response, root-cause analysis, and high-risk changes. Oracle lists a U.S. hiring range of $84,900 to $209,500 per annum; the role may be eligible for bonus and equity. Oracle offers a comprehensive benefits package, including insurance, retirement savings, paid time off, paid holidays, sick leave, and other programs.
