The role is responsible for driving and implementing translational development strategies and clinical biomarker plans for cellular therapy clinical studies. The scientist will work with contract research organizations and internal and external collaborators to design, execute, and interpret translational experiments and analyses. This work includes identifying biomarkers and generating and analyzing data for pharmacodynamic evaluation and mechanism-of-action assessment in clinical trials, informing cell therapy product development, and contributing to global regulatory submissions. The role involves leading translational research strategies, developing product mechanism-of-action hypotheses, managing internal drug-development projects, and serving as the scientific functional lead on cross-functional teams. The Principal Scientist also oversees CROs and academic collaborators, communicates findings to internal and external audiences, and contributes to regulatory documents and responses. The position is part of BMS’s Cell Therapy Thematic Research Center, which develops engineered cell-based therapies intended to harness the immune system to improve outcomes in hematologic malignancies, solid cancers, and autoimmune disease.
