Principal RF Design Engineer

RTX•Tucson, AZ
•$107,500 - $204,500•Onsite

About The Position

The Effector RF Design Department designs RF and microwave hardware, including transmitters, receivers, and exciters, for radar and datalink applications on tactical missile programs. The work spans preliminary design through integration and involves designing for challenging mechanical constraints and extreme environments. This onsite position in Tucson, Arizona, focuses on RF hardware design, development, testing, and integration. The engineer will design RF or mixed-signal circuit card assemblies, characterize components, verify and integrate modules in a laboratory, handle sensitive RF hardware, perform schematic capture and RF routing, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.

  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and at least eight years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience with RF design and fabrication.
  • Experience with RF testing and troubleshooting.
  • Experience simulating RF products.
  • Experience with Mentor DX Designer or an equivalent tool.
  • Experience with High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS) or an equivalent tool.
  • Experience with SystemVue/Genesys or an equivalent tool.
  • Experience with Advanced Design System (ADS) or an equivalent tool.
  • Ability to obtain an interim U.S. government-issued security clearance before the start date, with the ability to obtain special program access after starting.
