About The Position

SLR Consulting (Canada) Ltd. is seeking a Principal Resource Geologist to join their world-class geology team. This role involves applying expertise to help clients meet complex sustainability challenges in resource development. The company is an 800+ team of advisory, environmental, engineering, and regulatory professionals across 20 Canadian office locations, delivering sustainability services through the integration of over 30 technical disciplines. The Principal Resource Geologist will be part of one of the largest, dynamic, and experienced teams of resource geologists globally, bringing demonstrated skills in mineral resource/geological modelling (Leapfrog required), exploration, and project reviews. The role also requires a strong background in report writing, developing technical scopes of work, proposal preparation, and successful project delivery with high standards for quality and client satisfaction. The position offers a flexible and dynamic work environment, emphasizing a collaborative working style, client-centric mindset, and superb technical skills.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar geological role in the mining or environmental services industry
  • Significant knowledge of Seequent’s Leapfrog Geo and Edge modelling software
  • Experience with 3D geological modelling, data analysis, and drill planning
  • Knowledge of geostatistical mineral resource estimation fundamentals
  • Registered Licensed Professional such as P.Geo. or equivalent
  • Undergraduate degree in the geosciences

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Knowledge of an additional mining software package such as Datamine/Vulcan/Surpac/Micromine is considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Development of geological models or interpretations
  • Construction of block models for mineral resource and mineral reserve estimates
  • Participation in the preparation of NI 43-101 Reports or international equivalents
  • Perform due diligence reviews to support project financing, and mergers and acquisitions
  • Project management, including leadership of other geologists and third-party consulting groups
  • Working with multidisciplinary teams to integrate geological findings and interpretations with those of other scientific, planning, and engineering disciplines
  • Ensuring successful project delivery with respect to health & safety, scope, schedule, budget, QA/QC, and client satisfaction
  • Prepare proposals and contribute to the development and execution of service line, business sector, and client business development plans
  • Liaise and build relationships with clients and ensure excellent service delivery
  • Mentor junior geologists and participate in internal and external training/mentorship opportunities

Benefits

  • The salary range for this position is $160,000 - $200,000+
