About The Position

Reporting to the Vice President of Geology, the Principal Resource Geologist is accountable for delivering geological interpretation, 3D models, and mineral resource estimates across GMIN’s assets, while setting the technical direction and standards for this work. This role works in a multi-disciplinary teams and external consultants through resource estimation cycles, ensures compliance with applicable reporting codes, drives continuous improvement in data quality and modelling workflows, and supports corporate growth through technical due diligence for M&A.

Requirements

  • BSc in Geology, Geological Engineering, Mining Engineering, or a related field; MSc and/or relevant postgraduate specialization preferred.
  • Eligible to act as a Qualified Person / Competent Person (as applicable), with demonstrated experience supporting public disclosure under NI 43-101 (CIM Definition Standards).
  • Fluency in English; Portuguese or Spanish is an asset
  • 10 to 15 years of progressive experience in resource geology, 3D geological modelling, and mineral resource estimation, with gold experience strongly preferred. Site experience is an asset.
  • Proven ability to integrate multi-disciplinary datasets, including geology, structure, geo-metallurgy, geotechnical, hydrogeology, and mining, across study phases through to operations.
  • Demonstrated experience working across different cultures and jurisdictions.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and stakeholder management experience, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience presenting technical information to senior leadership, partners, and investors.
  • Strong understanding of QA/QC programs, sampling theory, drilling practices, density, and data integrity requirements that support robust resource estimates.
  • Advanced proficiency with Leapfrog (Geo/Edge), geostatistical tools such as Supervisor (or equivalent), GIS; experience with scripting languages such as Python or R is an asset.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership and decision-making in complex and ambiguous environments, with strong professional judgement.
  • Ability to develop and implement standards, workflows, and governance frameworks to improve consistency, transparency, and auditability of models and estimates.
  • Highly analytical with a continuous improvement mindset, including the ability to identify issues through reconciliation, audits, and data-driven reviews.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills to manage multiple assets, deadlines, and competing priorities.
  • Knowledge of a language other than French is required for this position as GMIN’s sites are international and the incumbent will be required to communicate with them on a regular basis.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and periodic refresh of deposit-scale geological interpretations and conceptual models; challenge assumptions and quantify key uncertainties to guide targeting and resource growth.
  • Define exploration and infill drilling strategies that optimize value creation (resource conversion, confidence uplift, discovery), in alignment with technical services and mine planning requirements.
  • Provide senior technical review and mentoring to site/project geologists; establish best-practice standards for logging, sampling, QA/QC, and geological interpretation.
  • Translate technical conclusions into clear recommendations for senior management, investors, and partners; contribute to high-quality technical presentations and written materials.
  • Implement and maintain exploration technical systems and protocols (sampling, QA/QC, density, geotechnical/hydrogeological interfaces) consistent with industry best practices and applicable reporting codes.
  • Contribute to multi-year exploration plans and annual budgets; review and prioritize work programs based on risk, opportunity, and resource/production requirements.
  • Own the resource modelling and mineral resource estimation governance framework across projects/sites (standards, templates, peer review, documentation, and version control).
  • Ensure compliance with applicable disclosure/reporting codes (e.g., NI 43-101 / CIM Definition Standards) and coordinate internal/external peer reviews and audits.
  • Integrate geological, geo-metallurgical, density, structural, and production data to maintain fit-for-purpose models that support mine planning and technical studies.
  • Drive reconciliation and model performance reviews (short- and long-term); identify root causes and implement improvements to modelling, sampling, and QA/QC workflows.
  • Lead modelling and mineral resource workstreams for technical due diligence and corporate transactions; prepare defensible deliverables and respond to third-party technical queries.
