Principal Researcher and Senior Principal Researcher - Software Verification - Microsoft Research
About The Position
At Microsoft Research, the Principal Researcher or Senior Principal Researcher will shape the future of systems and AI by creating and using cutting-edge technology for software verification. The role advances research in systems software verification and applies that research to influence how software is built and maintained, including developing approaches that use AI and agent technologies to enable rapid development of large amounts of verified systems code. The position focuses on formal methods, large-scale systems, and the integration of AI and agent technologies. The researcher will collaborate with researchers, engineers, and product teams and will primarily work on-site in Redmond, with opportunities for cross-disciplinary growth and learning.
Requirements
- Doctorate in a relevant field and 3 or more years of related research experience; or a master's degree in a relevant field and 4 or more years of related research experience; or a bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 6 or more years of related research experience; or equivalent experience.
- Experience publishing academic papers as a lead author or essential contributor.
- Experience participating in a top conference in a relevant research domain.
- Active participation in engineering efforts in the relevant areas, including involvement in building and maintaining systems.
- Demonstrable ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
