About The Position

The Principal Recruiter will serve as a senior strategic recruiting leader supporting Micron's Global Operations organization and the New York expansion. This role is responsible for attracting and securing talent critical to the success of one of Micron's largest workforce growth initiatives, with a focus on niche construction, operational leadership, and other difficult-to-fill positions. In addition to recruiting, you will build and maintain relations within the local community and connect with educational institutions and workforce development partners. These efforts strengthen Micron's employment brand and talent pipeline! The role will partner closely with business leaders, HR, Talent Acquisition Operations, University Recruiting, Workforce Strategies, Talent Brand, and community collaborators in developing and implementing talent strategies that support both immediate hiring needs and long-term workforce growth. This individual will also contribute to broader expansion hiring initiatives. These include University Relations and connecting with community colleges in New York. They will support Boise expansion recruiting as business priorities and capacity allow. This position is fully onsite (five days per week) in Clay, New York.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 12+ years of progressive recruiting experience.
  • Experience supporting full-cycle recruitment for professional, technical, operational, leadership, construction, manufacturing, or other difficult-to-fill positions.
  • Experience developing candidate pipelines through sourcing, networking, or talent attraction activities.
  • Eligibility to travel as required to support hiring events, stakeholder meetings, and recruiting initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead full-cycle recruiting for critical and niche construction, facilities, manufacturing, engineering, and leadership positions supporting Global Operations and the New York expansion.
  • Partner with senior business leaders to develop hiring strategies, workforce plans, and talent market approaches for high-priority roles.
  • Leverage market intelligence, competitive insights, and workforce data to influence hiring decisions and proactively address talent risks.
  • Support the execution of recruiting strategies aligned with New York expansion hiring objectives and workforce ramp plans.
  • Build sustainable talent pipelines for specialized and hard-to-fill roles critical to expansion success.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to identify workforce trends, hiring challenges, and opportunities to improve recruiting outcomes.
  • Establish and maintain relations with local workforce development organizations, community leaders, economic development groups, and industry associations.
  • Represent Micron at community events, networking forums, career fairs, and industry engagements to strengthen talent attraction and brand awareness.
  • Collaborate with external partners to build workforce development initiatives that support current and future talent needs.
  • Serve as a recruiting thought partner for workforce development programs designed to meet long-term expansion hiring goals.
  • Provide assistance with University recruiting work as needed.
  • Partner with recruiting teams supporting Micron's Boise expansion and other strategic growth initiatives to share guidelines, market intelligence, and talent strategies.
  • Provide recruiting support for Boise expansion hiring priorities based on business needs and available bandwidth.
  • Leverage AI-enabled recruiting tools and talent intelligence solutions to improve candidate identification, engagement, and recruiting effectiveness.
  • Partner with TA Operations to find opportunities for process improvements, automation, and scalable recruiting solutions.
  • Serve as a trusted talent advisor to hiring managers, HR Business Partners, and business leaders.
  • Influence hiring outcomes through data-driven recommendations, market expertise, and effective stakeholder partnerships.
