Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history. Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking for a Principal Project Management (Level 3) to join our team! This position will be located on site in Melbourne, Florida. The Principal Project Management (Level 3) will oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. The candidate will review status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. This Principal Project Manager (Level 3) should be able to work independently with little oversight and be able to receive requirements at a high level and derive lower-level requirements as required. The selected candidate should possess leadership skills and should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of project management or similar experience OR a Master’s degree with 3 years of project management or similar experience
Knowledge of project management principles and practices
Experience preparing and presenting presentations
Microsoft Office skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret security clearance and be able to attain program specific accesses

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree in project management or similar degree field
PMP certification
Active DoD Secret Clearance

Responsibilities

Manages/Facilitates Risk, Issue and Opportunity Management
Manages program rhythm and associated calendars
Develops/maintains Program Definition Documents (PDDs), Contract Work Breakdown Structure (CWBS), and other Program Management Plans (PMPs)
Integrate, control, and manage program and product requirements
Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives
Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress, for intervention, and problem solving with project managers, functional managers, line managers, and clients.
Coordinate with internal and external customers, integrated product teams, and suppliers
Ability to comprehend and analyze complex problems and develop solutions
Work under consultative direction toward long-range goals and objectives
Actively work with Leadership to ensure success of the program
Identify Opportunities to save cost and/or schedule to bring more value to our customer and improve performance
Technical data package analysis
