About The Position

The Principal Project Engineer independently manages engineering and technical delivery for defined buildings, facility areas, or multidisciplinary work packages within a greenfield API and Drug Product manufacturing campus. The role reports to the assigned Project Manager, with technical direction from a Senior Principal Project Engineer where applicable. It coordinates requirements, design interfaces, procurement support, construction, commissioning, applicable qualification, and handover. The engineer owns completion of assigned packages, resolves routine cross-discipline issues, and escalates significant design decisions, changes, and delivery risks. The position will ultimately be based in New Albany, Ohio. Significant travel to design firms is initially required until design and construction teams transition onsite, anticipated for mid- to late summer 2027. Some remote work will also be necessary until an onsite office is established, potentially as early as March 2027. Bayer prefers candidates currently residing in the Eastern or Midwestern United States; relocation is available.
