About The Position

Pratt & Whitney is seeking a proactive, goal-oriented, detail-focused Principal Project Engineer to lead a large, highly visible Integrated Product Team (IPT) in Compression Systems Engineering. The selected candidate will provide leadership to the GTF Fan/LPC Module team and own execution of production- and sustainment-phase program tasks. The role includes coordinating engineering responses to field, safety, and production issues; executing engineering changes; managing task budgets and schedules; and representing the IPT in technical, customer, and management reviews. The position is onsite in East Hartford, Connecticut, with travel opportunities of up to 10% within the United States and Japan supply chain. The position offers product lifecycle experience in production and sustainment, including safety, field service support, investigations, producibility, and engineering changes through the PCIR process. The successful candidate will develop IPT/CIPT leadership and program execution skills, deepen technical knowledge of aeroengine compression hardware, and strengthen leadership, communication, problem-solving, and continuous-improvement capabilities. It is described as a high-visibility pathway for future career growth. Compression Systems Engineering is responsible for the design, development, and in-service support of fans and low- and high-pressure compressors for commercial and military engine models, as well as identifying and maturing new technologies. Its technical disciplines include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, and Product Definition.
