About The Position

As a Principal Product Support Engineer, you will serve as the highest level of technical support within the product support team. You will lead efforts to resolve the most complex technical issues, drive innovation in product support strategies, and ensure that our products meet the highest standards of performance and reliability. The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains – air, land, sea, space and cyber.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 14+ years of experience in a technical support or engineering role.
  • Expert-level proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnostic techniques.
  • Extensive expertise in product installation and testing processes.
  • Proficiency with wireless networks, tactical communications and personal computers.
  • Communication and customer interface skills.
  • Comprehensive understanding of system level maintenance of networks and communications systems.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with counterintelligence (CI) poly and privileged access (PRIVAC) or the ability to obtain the clearance and/or PRIVAC.
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to serve as the technical liaison between Navy labs at Naval Air Station Patuxent River (PAX) and SNC engineering teams.
  • Ability to diagnose issues on existing Multi-Intelligence Sensor Development (MISD) platforms to proactively recommend solutions.
  • 5+ years of experience with SIGINT/ELINT systems.
  • Experience with programming languages, inclusive of C, C++, Linux, and Python.
  • Ability to foster relationships with end users to capture the voice of the customer in product development and sustainment.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance or the ability to obtain one.
  • Extensive experience with leading-edge prototype or concept product development.
  • In-depth knowledge of Aerospace and Defense industry standards and practices.
  • Advanced technical certifications [e.g., Six Sigma Black Belt, Project Management Professional (PMP), ITIL].
  • Working knowledge of operating military units and logistics.
  • Familiarity with the network and integration of traditional communications systems and sensors.
  • Ability to read schematics, use service manuals, follow test procedures, and use logical trouble shooting techniques.
  • Experience with Radio Frequency (RF), vehicle installation and maintenance procedures.
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, Government, or US Military.
  • Leadership experience in the military or civilian organization.
  • Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.

  • Lead and manage large-scale product installation, testing, and validation initiatives.
  • Resolve the most complex and critical technical issues and defects.
  • Develop and execute advanced corrective action plans in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of comprehensive technical documentation.
  • Conduct detailed and high-level customer needs assessments to provide tailored technical solutions.
  • Lead advanced product demonstrations, training sessions, and technical workshops.
  • Mentor senior engineers and support their professional growth.
  • Drive strategic and innovative initiatives to enhance product support processes and performance.
