About The Position

The Principal Product Manager, Practice Operations at DrChrono is responsible for reducing the administrative burden in DrChrono by 50% in 2026. This involves reimagining workflows surrounding patient visits, focusing on areas like the Message Center, patient portal, scheduling, intake, reminders, follow-up, and administrative task management. The role requires defining product strategy, sequencing, and quality standards to achieve measurable outcomes for practices, along with establishing a system to track time savings.

Requirements

  • Strong product leader with a focus on workflows, outcomes, and systems.
  • Understanding that great healthcare software reduces work, not just digitizes it.
  • Excellent customer discovery instincts and ability to differentiate symptoms from root causes.
  • Strong product mechanics: strategy, sequencing, requirements, acceptance criteria, validation, and launch quality.
  • Ability to influence across product, engineering, design, support, implementation, and go-to-market teams.
  • High standards, low ego, and a bias toward measurable customer impact.
  • Must be eligible to work without sponsorship.
  • May require travel to Corporate Headquarters in Denver, Colorado, or other North American offices.

Responsibilities

  • Lead discovery with DrChrono practices to understand workflow bottlenecks, time sinks, and patient self-service opportunities.
  • Reimagine the Message Center for faster prioritization, routing, response, and closure.
  • Deliver a modern patient portal to reduce calls, messages, manual intake, and front-office workload.
  • Improve scheduling and administrative workflows for simplicity, speed, and automation.
  • Partner with design and engineering on product strategy, requirements, acceptance criteria, and workflow testing.
  • Utilize data and customer evidence to identify high-leverage opportunities.
  • Align support, implementation, sales, and customer success for successful product adoption and measurement.
  • Establish clear metrics such as administrative minutes per visit, message resolution time, portal adoption, scheduling conversion, task completion time, support burden, and staff satisfaction.
