Principal Product Manager, Subrogation

CCC Intelligent Solutions•Chicago, IL

About The Position

CCC Intelligent Solutions Inc. (CCC) is seeking a Principal Product Manager for its Outbound Subrogation product. This role will focus on transforming outdated, manual subrogation processes within the insurance economy into an AI-driven platform. The Principal Product Manager will define product strategy, own the roadmap, collaborate with engineering and data science on architecture, and serve as the product expert for potential clients. The position offers significant autonomy, close partnership with senior product leadership, and the opportunity to build and grow a team as the product scales. CCC is a leading cloud platform for the insurance economy, empowering businesses with technology to streamline claims and repair journeys.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of product management experience in enterprise software or high-growth SaaS (preferred).
  • At least one 0-to-1 product build or major relaunch in a startup or high-velocity environment.
  • Demonstrated experience building and shipping AI-driven or data-intensive products with LLMs, scoring models, or ML pipelines as core components.
  • Track record of working directly with enterprise customers and senior stakeholders to validate product direction, plan for and track adoption, and support commercial outcomes.
  • Deep experience in at least one complex, regulated vertical (insurance, fintech, healthtech, legaltech, or similar).
  • Direct subrogation or claims experience is a meaningful differentiator.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity, with a bias toward action and learning over extensive upfront planning.

Nice To Haves

  • Product professional who has built and shipped a product with meaningful business outcomes.
  • Owned a roadmap, shipped features that changed customer capabilities, made hard prioritization calls, and operated as the connective tissue between engineering, data science, customers, and commercial teams.
  • Built credibility in a complex, regulated industry.
  • Ability to earn the trust of practitioners, distinguish genuine insight from noise, and make product decisions that hold up under scrutiny.
  • Insurance experience is a differentiator, but not required if willing to learn the industry quickly.
  • Works directly alongside engineers and uses AI coding tools.
  • Understands architecture (data pipelines, scoring models, LLM evaluation, agentic workflow design) sufficiently to hold informed technical opinions and drive architectural trade-offs.
  • Comfortable in enterprise sales environments.
  • Ability to construct a compelling ROI case, work alongside client partners in an active deal, and support sales by making customers excited.
  • Discipline to stop work not driving expected results.
  • Defines success criteria before building, tests early, and pauses investments where data doesn't support a path forward.
  • Wisdom to balance work that keeps existing customers happy and attracts new customer segments.
  • Establishes strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive the product roadmap for Outbound Subrogation user experience, including prioritization of features, data capabilities, AI enhancements, and integrations.
  • Translate market signals, customer research, and competitive intelligence into a clear, defensible strategy.
  • Set and track key performance metrics for carriers, such as dollars recovered, identification rate, and cycle time, and be accountable for improving them.
  • Partner with data science and engineering on architecture, next-best-action, workflow design, and the deployment and governance of LLM-based capabilities.
  • Conduct customer research with recovery managers, subrogation adjusters, and carrier teams, and make product decisions based on user feedback.
  • Represent the voice of the user in internal product and prioritization discussions, maintaining a feedback loop between the field and the roadmap.
  • Contribute directly to working software alongside engineers, utilizing AI coding tools.
  • Build and own the ROI case for the product, defining how carriers measure value and holding the product accountable to those measures.
  • Partner with sales, customer success, and product marketing on go-to-market execution, sales enablement materials, and carrier-facing ROI narratives.
  • Support active sales cycles as the product expert, articulating value to buyer stakeholders.
