Principal Product Manager - Core

CoinflowChicago, IL
$175,000 - $225,000Onsite

About The Position

Coinflow is seeking a Principal Product Manager to own a critical area of their product, focusing on pay-ins, payouts, geographic expansion, and merchant experience. This role offers the opportunity to grow into a leadership position within the product organization. The position involves working at the intersection of core product and infrastructure (checkout, withdrawals, new payment capabilities), geographic expansion strategy, fraud and decisioning systems, and vendor/banking partner onboarding. The successful candidate will collaborate with engineering, data, legal, operations, and finance teams to deliver a world-class global payments product. This is a high-ownership, high-ambiguity role requiring individuals who can operate with limited structure, proactively identify problems, and drive execution from start to finish.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of product management experience, including ownership of a complex technical or regulated surface area.
  • Track record of shipping end-to-end products, from ambiguous problems to production.
  • Demonstrated ability to define a problem space and build a roadmap independently.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of payments rails, including differences between pay-in and payout providers, market-specific advantages, and the impact of vendor selection on pricing, compliance, and product capability.
  • High bias for action; ability to move fast, default to building, and unblock oneself.
  • Operationally fluent; ability to deeply understand workflows of compliance analysts or underwriters and translate them into product requirements.
  • Ability to raise the operating bar by automating manual steps, documenting tribal knowledge, and improving team speed.
  • Obsessed with customer experience, holding internal tools to the same UX standards as merchant-facing surfaces.
  • Rigorous with data; ability to instrument shipped products and let data inform decisions.
  • Drawn to hard problems in payments and risk.
  • Builder mindset; takes ownership and treats the product as their own.

Nice To Haves

  • Cross-border or multi-market payments experience, including launching in unfamiliar markets with unique rails, regulators, and settlement mechanics.
  • Risk or underwriting product work, with experience shipping against approval-rate and loss-rate tradeoffs.
  • Product work under heavy regulatory constraint (e.g., NACHA, MiCA, BSA/AML, PSD2).
  • Experience at a company that experienced significant growth (e.g., from Series A to Series C).

Responsibilities

  • Build market strategy for geographic expansion, including research, prioritization, go-to-market strategy development, and product gap identification and closure.
  • Own global payments vendor procurement, including identifying pay-in and payout providers, conducting evaluations (pricing, coverage, compliance, technical fit), driving MSA and legal review, and managing post-onboarding relationships.
  • Own the merchant and developer experience for checkout, withdrawals, and API surfaces.
  • Shape fraud and decisioning product by partnering with risk and data teams to improve approval rates and loss performance while minimizing merchant friction.
  • Translate operational complexity and regulatory requirements into clear product specifications for engineering and data teams.
  • Drive product decisions with data analysis, performance insights, and rapid iteration.
  • Contribute broadly across the product organization, taking on generalist work in pay-ins, payouts, and orchestration as needed.

Benefits

  • Equity grant
  • Health and wellness benefits
  • 401(k) savings plan
  • Flexible time off
