About The Position

Evinova is seeking a pragmatic builder-architect for a hands-on technical leadership role. The position involves spending roughly 40% of the time writing code and prototyping, with the remainder focused on architecture, mentoring, and raising the engineering bar. The engineer will embed with a product team for extended periods, own technical direction, and build AI-powered features end-to-end from idea through production. The role may include managing some engineers. The engineer will build production-ready AI features and own the full stack for those features, including application code, data, and infrastructure. They will make decisions about architecture, deployment, observability, cost, and security; mentor teammates; understand existing systems and their history; and assess the potential impact of technical decisions. The work emphasizes engineering judgment, sustainable systems, production AI engineering, team development, and learning technology deeply enough to make sound decisions. The technical environment includes AWS; React, TypeScript, Vite, Tailwind, shadcn/ui, BlockNote, and Nginx; Node.js, Next.js, Python, Kafka, FastAPI, Dramatiq, Valkey, PynamoDB, SQLAlchemy async, asyncpg, Prometheus, and MongoDB; Docker, Kubernetes (EKS), AWS CDK, ECS Fargate, DynamoDB, S3, RDS, ElastiCache Valkey, Bedrock, Secrets Manager, and SSM; NX, pnpm, GitHub Actions, GHCR, Docker/Buildx, Wiz, and GitHub OIDC; and AI infrastructure and tooling including Google ADK, LiteLLM, OpenRouter, MCP, Langfuse, OpenTelemetry, RAGAS, specialist domain agents, Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, opencode, and Hermes Agent. The position averages a minimum of three days per week in the office, with flexibility considered. The annual base pay range is $172,466 to $258,700 USD. The role also offers a short-term incentive bonus opportunity and benefits including a qualified retirement program, paid vacation and holidays, paid leaves, and health benefits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • At least 8 years of software engineering experience, including meaningful time at a senior, staff, or principal level owning technical direction.
  • Production experience building AI-powered features, such as agent systems, RAG, or model orchestration; prompting or isolated fine-tuning alone is not sufficient.
  • Strong full-stack capability across application code, data stores, and infrastructure.
  • Experience designing, deploying, and operating production systems on AWS at scale.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and elevate engineers through pairing, design review, or informal technical leadership.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in regulated industries such as healthcare, pharma, or finance, where compliance constraints shape technical decisions.
  • Background building multi-agent or agentic AI systems in production.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code such as CDK, Terraform, or Pulumi, and container orchestration such as EKS or ECS.
  • Experience in product-led engineering organizations where engineers own outcomes, not just outputs.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build AI-powered product features, including agent architectures, RAG pipelines, model orchestration, evaluation frameworks, and guardrails, with production engineering rigor.
  • Own the full stack for built features, including application code, data, and infrastructure, and make end-to-end decisions about deployment, observability, cost, and security.
  • Make architectural decisions that favor reversibility early and durability once the problem is understood.
  • Mentor and coach engineers, sharing judgment and mental models and calibrating involvement to the stakes of decisions.
  • Understand existing systems and their history before proposing changes.
  • Identify and manage the potential impact of technical decisions.
  • Build and prototype as part of a hands-on technical leadership role, while setting technical direction and raising the engineering bar.
  • Embed with a product team for extended periods and own technical direction for AI-powered features from idea through production.

Benefits

  • Short-term incentive bonus opportunity.
  • Eligibility to participate in the equity-based long-term incentive program for salaried roles.
  • Qualified retirement program (401(k) plan).
  • Paid vacation and holidays.
  • Paid leaves.
  • Health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage.
