About The Position

Define the future of design craft at Epicor! As a Principal Product Designer, you will shape how design drives business impact across products that power manufacturing, distribution, supply chain, and retail operations worldwide. Operating at the intersection of design strategy, systems thinking, and hands-on craft excellence, you will influence product direction, organizational standards, and executive decision-making without direct people management responsibilities. We are seeking applicants with exceptional design leadership, deep enterprise product design expertise, and a forward-thinking approach to AI-enabled design practices. This role is designed for a design expert who wants to focus on meaningful product challenges, elevate design quality at scale, and help create long-lasting success for customers and colleagues alike.

Requirements

  • 10+ years experience in product design, including significant experience designing enterprise software or B2B SaaS products, with a portfolio demonstrating strategic impact and systems-level thinking.
  • Proven ability to establish design vision, influence cross-functional stakeholders, and drive alignment across multiple product areas without direct management authority.
  • Expertise in designing complex enterprise experiences, including workflow-heavy applications, data-rich interfaces, role-based systems, and platform-scale ecosystems.
  • Deep knowledge of design systems, including component architecture, design tokens, governance models, and scalable operational frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of AI-enabled design practices, with the ability to define workflows, influence adoption, and guide quality standards across teams.
  • Exceptional communication, storytelling, and executive presentation skills, with experience connecting design investment to business outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to elevate design craft through mentorship, standards-setting, collaboration, and leading by example.

  • Experience leading organization-wide transformation of design practices in AI-enabled environments.
  • Hands-on experience with agent-assisted development, rapid prototyping, or emerging approaches such as vibe coding.
  • Understanding of AI infrastructure, agent orchestration, context management, and designing experiences where AI agents act on behalf of users.
  • Experience in manufacturing, distribution, supply chain, retail operations, or other operationally complex enterprise industries.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive design strategy across multiple product areas, connecting feature-level experiences to platform vision, customer outcomes, and business objectives.
  • Establish organizational standards for interaction design, systems thinking, design quality, and design system governance, creating frameworks that enable consistency and scalability across teams.
  • Lead complex, ambiguous, and high-impact design initiatives from discovery through execution, aligning stakeholders, shaping solutions, and measuring outcomes.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and executive leadership to influence roadmaps, investment priorities, and architectural decisions through customer-centered design thinking and business insight.
  • Champion a culture of design excellence by setting quality expectations, mentoring through influence, facilitating critique, and modeling best practices across the organization.
  • Define how AI tools, agent-based workflows, and emerging technologies are incorporated into design processes, establishing standards for AI-assisted work and responsible innovation.
  • Communicate design vision and business value to senior leaders, building alignment around strategic opportunities and measurable outcomes.
