About The Position

Our CardioVascular Surgery Operating Unit (OU) is looking for a Principal Process Engineer. The role will specialize in the optimization of dip molding processes and polymer material science for medical-grade catheters, driving improvements in production yields. This role will also integrate advanced dip-coating/molding equipment and biocompatible elastomer/thermoplastic material capabilities to meet target specifications for vascular surgical catheters. This role will also lead the end-to-end development, tooling design, and scale-up of dip molding manufacturing lines for catheters, including mandrel design, polymer rheology management, curing/drying profile optimization, and automated stripping systems. Requirements

  • Requires a Baccalaureate degree AND minimum of 7 years of relevant experience OR Master's degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience OR PhD with 3 years relevant experience
  • For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
  • U.S. work authorization sponsorship (H-1B, TN, J, etc.) is offered exclusively for Principal-level roles and above, where specialized expertise aligns with long-term business needs.
  • Roles below the Principal level require candidates to possess unrestricted U.S. work authorization at the time of hire and for the duration of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and sustaining engineering support in a manufacturing area
  • Recommend and implement equipment and process modifications to meet quality standards and improve production efficiencies, manufacturing techniques as well as production yields for existing products
  • Integrate equipment and material capabilities to meet process module target specifications and technology target specifications
  • Review product development requirements for compatibility with processing methods to determine costs and schedules
  • Interact with product design and development personnel to ensure that processes and designs are compatible
  • May develop and conduct statistical analysis or recommend additions to document work
  • Lead the innovation, development and/or optimization of new manufacturing concepts, processes and procedures for transfer to manufacturing operations which may include scouting and feasibility work, material selection, process and equipment selection, tooling/fixture and equipment installation and assessment of inputs, outputs and alignment to requirements
  • Develop manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control and may develop those techniques including the measurement systems
  • Ensure processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations
