About The Position

Architects enterprise-scale Android applications for secure, real-time financial management and drives technical strategy across teams. Designs and evolves complex application architectures, leads development of automation pipelines using DevOps principles and CI/CD tools, and guides adoption of Android design patterns such as Clean Architecture, MVVM, and MVI. Establishes quality standards through testing with JUnit, Espresso, and Mockito, and provides technical guidance through architectural governance, code reviews, and mentorship. Advances platform capabilities using Coroutines, Jetpack Compose, and Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile (KMM), ensuring mobile solutions are scalable, performant, and maintainable. The role develops tools, patterns, and reusable components; partners with platform and architecture teams on mobile engineering standards; and provides thought leadership, coaching, and guidance to advance mobile outcomes and architecturally compliant applications. The position also applies modern design patterns and engineering practices to build multi-module applications and customer-focused mobile experiences.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Data Science, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent), and five years of experience as a Principal Mobile Developer or in a closely related occupation.
Alternatively, a master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Data Science, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent), and three years of experience as a Principal Mobile Developer or in a closely related occupation.
Experience performing native Android application development using Kotlin and Java, modern Android UI frameworks, automated build tooling, AI-assisted development practices, and cloud-based mobile services in an enterprise software engineering environment.
Demonstrated expertise developing native Android applications with Kotlin and Java; developing UI with Jetpack Compose and Material Design principles; and implementing MVVM architecture using Android Studio, Gradle, and Jetpack libraries including ViewModel, LiveData, and Navigation.
Demonstrated expertise developing custom Gradle and Android Studio plugins to automate build and release processes, enforce coding and architectural standards, and increase developer productivity.
Demonstrated expertise using AI-driven development tools, including GitHub Copilot and Google Gemini, to accelerate feature development, improve code quality, and enhance developer and end-user experience.
Demonstrated expertise architecting and implementing modular, scalable Android applications using Kotlin and Java in accordance with industry-standard design patterns and engineering best practices.
Demonstrated expertise using GitHub for source control, versioning, and collaborative code reviews.
Demonstrated expertise using Firebase services such as Authentication, Crashlytics, Cloud Messaging, or Remote Config to enhance application stability, performance, and feature delivery.

Coach teams on software engineering best practices, including object-oriented and functional programming patterns and Test-Driven Development.
Apply modern design patterns, including Clean Architecture, to build multi-module applications.
