About The Position

This is a senior expert role for a Principal Mechanical Engineer focusing on high voltage power systems and substations. The successful candidate will independently lead complex mechanical engineering tasks, including planning, designing, and coordinating mechanical solutions. The role involves providing technical guidance, ensuring successful project delivery, and proactively improving operations for one of Sperton's clients in Västerås.

Requirements

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience (including leadership), OR another technical degree with 15+ years experience
• Previous experience with high voltage power systems, substations, or MV/HV switchgears
• Basic knowledge of applicable standards (EN, IEC)
• Fluent in spoken and written Swedish and English (mandatory)
• Valid SSG-Entré certificate
• Ability to work 100% on-site in Västerås with up to 10% travel

• Knowledge in CAD tools (e.g., Revit)
• Other language skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate complex mechanical engineering activities for high voltage power systems and substations
• Prepare designs, specifications, and technical documentation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers on project execution
• Provide technical support and act as a consultant on advanced studies
• Ensure adherence to quality standards, budgets, and schedules
• Travel up to 10% (domestic and international)
