About The Position

Halo is a technology company developing haircare products for all hair textures. Its HaloBraid product is a braid-assist device intended to help stylists finish braids five times faster. The device applies robotics to hair manipulation and combines computer vision, compliant fiber manipulation, and novel mechanisms. Halo is moving from research and development into salon deployment and is backed by leading investors. The Principal Mechanical Engineer / Systems Engineer will understand the full HaloBraid machine and its architecture, identify and resolve design, tolerance, assembly, serviceability, and dependency issues, and personally deliver individual engineering work from 3D CAD through pilot and toward production-ready parts. The role reviews design work across the team, develops test and decision frameworks, applies DFM/DFA judgment, and prepares for pilot builds, supplier engagement, and contract-manufacturer handoff. The engineer will mentor colleagues and establish practical engineering standards while collaborating with electrical, industrial design, manufacturing, and supplier partners. This is an onsite position at Halo's office and lab in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
