About The Position

The Principal Marketing Strategist will serve as a strategic and analytical cornerstone of the marketing organization, driving go-to-market strategy, competitive intelligence, and market insights that directly support revenue growth. This role bridges product, sales, finance, and executive leadership - ensuring that market intelligence informs every major business decision, from new product development to investor communications.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of progressive marketing experience, with at least 3 years in a senior or director-level role
  • Experience in B2B marketing within financial services, fintech, payments, or adjacent technology sectors strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex market data and competitive insights into clear executive narratives and strategic recommendations
  • Proven track record supporting investor relations, earnings communications, or financial reporting processes
  • Strong cross-functional collaborator with experience working alongside finance, product, and sales leadership
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to C-suite and board-level audiences
  • Proficiency with market research tools, analytics platforms, and media planning frameworks
  • Bachelor's degree required

Responsibilities

  • Own and lead the Business Unit Review (BUR) process, partnering cross-functionally to develop compelling performance narratives and strategic recommendations
  • Support the quarterly earnings process, coordinating marketing inputs, preparing key messaging, and ensuring accurate market context is reflected in investor communications
  • Contribute to annual 10-K reporting by providing market data, competitive context, and category narrative in partnership with finance and legal teams
  • Lead marketing strategy for new product launches and vertical expansion initiatives, from market sizing and positioning to launch planning and post-launch tracking
  • Identify and evaluate whitespace opportunities across card categories, customer segments, and adjacent verticals to inform the product roadmap
  • Provide strategic marketing support for RFPs, crafting differentiated value propositions and ensuring proposals reflect current market positioning and competitive strengths
  • Develop sales enablement materials that equip commercial teams with compelling, insight-driven content for key client engagements
  • Build and maintain a robust customer insights program, synthesizing VOC (voice of customer) data, usage trends, and cardholder behavior to inform strategy
  • Lead competitive intelligence efforts focused on card issuers - tracking product launches, pricing dynamics, partnership activity, and positioning shifts across the competitive landscape
  • Conduct ongoing market analysis to identify category trends, macroeconomic forces, and emerging technologies shaping the financial card industry
  • Serve as the primary relationship lead with media buying partners, overseeing strategy, planning, and performance accountability across paid media channels
  • Ensure media investment aligns with broader brand and demand generation objectives, optimizing for reach, efficiency, and measurable business impact
