About The Position

The Principal and Major Gifts Intern supports the Principal and Major Gifts team by assisting with the operational work that enables major gift fundraising. The intern will learn how a large humanitarian nonprofit manages major donor engagement, including moves management, reporting, and coordination across teams. They will also have opportunities to learn about MSF’s medical humanitarian work in more than 70 countries. This internship is well-suited for someone exploring a career in major gifts fundraising, donor relations, or advancement operations. The role involves regular CRM/database use, data cleaning and analysis to support the team in cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding principal and major donors.

Requirements

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint
Experience with CRM database management (e.g., Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge)
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
Genuine commitment to MSF’s principles and work
Interest or experience in fundraising

Responsibilities

Manage aspects of the data management system with supervision. This includes being responsible for developing or operating basic elements of the data management systems to deliver prescribed outcomes.
Deliver small-scale projects while working within an established program management plan.
Conduct data entry into company systems, and review and verify the information to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
Respond to queries from internal or external donors or suppliers by providing information, referring more complex issues to others.
Enter relevant information into the CRM system after each contact to ensure that the organization has quality data to enable effective customer retention and business development activities.
